The event was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Danupon Nantajit, Director of the Bureau for Research and Innovation Management, Chulabhorn Royal Academy.
The workshop followed the previous meeting and was organized with the objective of evaluating and forecasting the health and economic impacts of immunotherapy in the treatment of metastatic lung cancer. The meeting also served as a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion on strategies to improve access to immunotherapy for lung cancer treatment within the context of Thailand’s healthcare system.
The event featured discussions and collaborative exchanges among representatives from key organizations and sectors, including the National Health Security Office (NHSO), the Social Security Office, the Comptroller General’s Department, the National Cancer Institute, the Department of Medical Services, the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program, as well as medical oncologists, pulmonologists and critical care specialists, academics, and researchers.
The outcomes of the workshop will be utilized to support the development of practical guidelines, implementation plans, and multisectoral collaborations aimed at improving access to effective treatment for lung cancer patients. At the same time, these efforts seek to strengthen the long-term sustainability of healthcare financing policies, ultimately maximizing benefits for patients while ensuring alignment with Thailand’s healthcare context and future needs.
