Call for Research and Innovation Proposals for Fiscal Year 2026 on Aging Society Preparedness

The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, serves as the principal agency responsible for managing the country’s research and innovation funding. The NRCT emphasizes outcomes from research that can be applied across various dimensions —including academic, economic, social, community, and policy sectors, as mechanisms to address the nation’s urgent and strategic challenges, and to support the achievement of sustainable development goals. In alignment with the National Science, Research, and Innovation Plan (2023–2027), the NRCT has established a framework for research and innovation proposals for fiscal year 2026, specifically targeting aging society preparedness, as outlined below:

Strategy 2: Enhancing Society and Environment for Sustainable Development. This strategy aims to solve emerging challenges and respond to global dynamics through science, research, and innovation.

Program P9: Developing an Aging Society through Science, Research, and Innovation

  • Sub-program F8 (S2P9): Development of an Aging Society through Science, Research, and Innovation
    • Focus Area: Social innovations to empower active and contributing elderly
    • Focus Area: Transforming retirement into a source of strength
  • Sub-program N13 (S2P9): Innovation Development to Prepare the Rural and Urban Workforce for Aging
    • Focus Area: Intergenerational coexistence
    • Focus Area: Innovation development to support an aging society

Submission of Research and Innovation Proposals

Applicants must register and submit their research and innovation proposals via the NRIIS website: https://nriis.go.th. Please select the appropriate research group/topic and complete all required fields as specified by the NRCT. Proposals and supporting documents must be uploaded in the system, and the submission must be confirmed to be considered complete. The submission status in the NRIIS system should display:
“The funding agency has received the project proposal.”


Proposal Submission Timeline

  1. Proposal submission period:
    From June 23, 2025 to August 22, 2025 at 4:30 PM (local time)
  2. Researcher confirmation deadline (in NRIIS):
    All principal and co-investigators must confirm their participation by August 22, 2025 at 4:30 PM
  3. Institutional endorsement deadline:
    Researchers’ affiliated institutions must endorse the proposals via NRIIS by August 29, 2025 at 4:30 PM
