On Wednesday, 20 May 2026, Professor Emeritus Dr. Ratchata Ratchatanawin, Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, together with the executive team of Chulabhorn Royal Academy and Chulabhorn Hospital, led by Professor Ruengpueng Sutthent M.D., Ph.D., Acting Deputy Secretary-General of Chulabhorn Royal Academy; Associate Professor Dr. Surasak Leelaudomlipi, Acting Director of Chulabhorn Hospital; Associate Professor Dr. Danupon Nantajit, Director of the Bureau for Research and Innovation Management; and Dr. Chumut Phanthunane, Acting Deputy Director of the the Bureau for Research and Innovation Management, warmly welcomed executives and staff members from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and the SICRES Clinical Research Center during their visit to observe clinical research management operations. The visit took place at the Clinical Research Administration Meeting Room, 7th Floor, Office of Research Administration and Innovation, Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building, Chulabhorn Hospital.
The occasion also included a joint discussion on advancing clinical research development and strengthening collaboration in clinical research between the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Chulabhorn Royal Academy. The partnership aims to enhance Thailand’s clinical research capabilities and support the nation’s aspiration to become a leading clinical research hub in Southeast Asia in the future.
On this occasion, the executive team from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital was led by Professor Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital; Professor Dr. Yongyuth Siriwanaksorn, Director of Siriraj Hospital; and Deputy Directors including Associate Professor Dr. Soravis Viravan, Assistant Professor Dr. Theerawut Thamwiboolsri, and Associate Professor Dr. Pojamarn Pisanprapa. The delegation from the SICRES Clinical Research Center was led by Professor Emeritus Kulkanya Chokephaibulkit, M.D., Advisor to the Clinical Research Center; Associate Professor Dr. Pongsakorn Tantilipikorn, M.D., Ph.D, Director of the Clinical Research Center; and Associate Professor Dr. Somruedee Chatsiricharoenkul, M.D., Deputy Director of the Clinical Research Center, together with their delegation.
The visiting delegation attended presentations and toured the Clinical Research Center of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, which is currently undergoing operational expansion, as well as the Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana Building, Chulabhorn Hospital, a research-ready site equipped to conduct clinical trial studies. The visit concluded with a summary session and collaborative discussions at the Princess Chulabhorn Research and Learning Building in Celebration of Her Royal Highness’s 60th Birthday Anniversary.
This study visit and collaborative meeting marked a significant milestone in the partnership between Chulabhorn Royal Academy and the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, in integrating expertise and strengthening Thailand’s clinical research capabilities. The collaboration also aims to reinforce confidence in Thailand’s potential as a high-capacity clinical trial and research destination, while expanding clinical research cooperation between the two institutions. Beyond advancing Thai medical research and innovation sustainably, this partnership will also contribute to elevating healthcare standards, improving access to innovative medicines and research products, and ultimately enhancing the health and quality of life of the Thai people and the global community for generations to come.
